What if I didn't live here? What if I didn't work here? What if my friends were not my friends? What if I had married someone else? What if I grew up in a Christian home. What if I were the Pastor?
I think that we all have illusions of a better life, and how much better that it could be, "If only this or that were different." But God did not create us to be the same as each other. In first Corinthians it states that we are individual parts of one body
1 Corinthians 12:14-16
14Now the body is not made up of one part but of many. 15If the foot should say, "Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body. 16And if the ear should say, "Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body.
We all have unique gifts and talents, for instance nobody would ever want to hear me play the piano, but I can do other things quite well. This doesn't make me any less important to the body of Christ. Does it? To say "what if" is taking God's purpose for my life and making it less important than His purpose for others . The Lord uses the things that are ours, such as our personality, our natural talents (music, teaching, talking, listening, you get the idea) to build His kingdom.
Who would think that listening could be a Kingdom builder, but it is part of a system that uses all individual talents equally to build a Kingdom that is far superior to any kingdom that could be imagined.
What if..... we let God work in our lives the way He has always wanted? Oh the possibilities. ===Skid===
