As a child I remember being quite disappointed at Christmas time because I didn't receive the gift I was expecting. My dreams of the perfect gift were dashed because I envisioned something different than those of the gift giver. Here is the kicker though: I don't ever remember giving the gift back, I may have put the gift under my bed and forgotten about it but never gave it back.
Now as a gift giver we are all happy when we give a gift to someone and they are very thankful and appreciative of the gift. On the other hand are we not surprised when the gift is given a cold reception?
So my analogy for today is: What about the gift that I was given from God? Am I thankful for the gift? Is it what I was expecting? Have I hidden it under my bed? Or...Have I tried to exchange it for another?
The Lord knows what our abilities and desires are in life, He also knows what gifts we need to be the most useful in building the Kingdom.
The question is: What am I doing with my gift, using it as God intended, or am I hiding it under the bed hoping for something better?
Am I worthy of what I have been given? ===Skid===
